Use your Danish qualifications abroad

If you want to have your Danish qualifications recognised in order to study or work in another country, you must follow the rules that apply in that country. This page gives you some tips and advice on making your Danish qualifications clearly understood.

Studying abroad

If you are interested in studying or continuing your education outside Denmark, it will normally be the institution to which you seek admission that will assess your Danish educational qualifications.

You may ask for information at the national recognition information office (see below).

For information about studying in another EU country, please visit Your Europe: University.

If you are planning to return to Denmark after studies in another country, it is recommended that you seek information about what possibilities they will give you in Denmark. For information about studying in another country as part of a Danish programme, please contact your Danish educational institution. Working abroad

If you want to work outside Denmark, you should first find out whether your occupation is regulated in that country.

If the profession is not regulated, you are free to seek employment. In some countries you can apply for an assessment of your qualifications. You can get further information from the national recognition information office (see the section below).

If the profession is regulated, you need to have your qualifications officially recognised by a competent authority.
