Applying for admission

If you are ready to apply for admission to a particular programme, you should contact the educational institution of your choice. Each individual institution decides whether you are entitled to admission on the basis of your foreign qualification.

It is recommended that you ask a guidance counsellor at the institution about admission requirements, supplementary courses and the possibilities for credit transfer.

It is up to the educational institution in question to decide whether or not you fulfil the requirements for admission,  on the basis of the general recommendations from the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation. In some cases it is useful to obtain an assessment from the agency.

Credit transfer
If you are admitted to a study programme, you may apply for credit transfer (merit). Credit transfer means that parts of your previous qualification are accredited towards replacing part of the new education programme.

The educational institution decides whether you are entitled to credit transfer. However, if you disagree with the institution's decision on credit transfer you may file a complaint with a special complaints board, the Qualifications Board.

Most European countries use ECTS points as a tool for credit transfer.
