About the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation

As part of the reorganisation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, the Danish University and Property Agency's university policy activities, among others, and the entire Danish Agency for International Education have been merged into one agency: the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation.

New agency with common goals

The Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation is a government agency under the Danish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, and our core tasks are identical with those of the two former agencies: By creating optimum framework conditions for the Danish university sector, we aim to facilitate more and better knowledge, in and for Denmark, in the form of research, education, knowledge dissemination and public-sector services. Moreover, we strive to strengthen Denmark's position in the global community by promoting internationalisation of study programmes, intercultural understanding, integration and a global outlook.

Centre organisation lends flexibility

The agency consists of a joint accreditation unit and four centres.

One of the key purposes of the centre model is to provide the organisation with a more flexible and robust capability in handling its tasks. The departments, which each centre is comprised of, share a number of professional interfaces and thus the potential for fostering professional synergies.

Our organisation chart illustrates how the departments are positioned within the four centres. At a later stage, you will also be able to find information about the specific fields of responsibility of each department and which employees belong to the departments.

Tasks follow employees

Following the establishment of the agency, certain tasks will be relocated to new departments. Furthermore some employees will be redeployed among departments internally in the agency. Information on the location of the employees and the distribution of responsibilities will later be available on the agency's website. Most tasks are however still attached to the employees who handled them previously.

New front page unites ubst.dk and iu.dk

For the time being, the websites ubst.dk and iu.dk will continue to serve as the main websites for accessing relevant and updated information on universities and internationalisation, respectively. However, the main entry point to the two websites has been changed to ui.dk.

However, the two websites will not be updated for a period of time with regards to new developments or initiatives in the fields of responsibility of other ministries.

You can read more about the reorganisation on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education's website.
